Branson retires
October 2008
Site manager Brian Branson retired in June after 16 years service with Ashe. Brian started his construction career as an apprentice carpenter and joiner in 1957 and having gained his City and Guilds spent the next few years with contractors such as Stirtons and French Kier. After a five year stint at Miskins, Brian joined Ashe in 1992 working on a wide variety of projects.
Brian said: “My time at Ashe has certainly been my most enjoyable. They’re a great company to work for and there’s a real family atmosphere.”
Brian’s favorite projects were in the education sector: “I’ve had a lot of satisfaction working on school projects. It’s great to construct buildings with all the latest equipment for the children to use.”
Managing director Robin Blake said: “It is people like Brian who have helped Ashe become the company it is today. We thank him for his hard work and dedication to the job and wish him a long and happy retirement.”
Brian is now even busier than ever looking after family members, keeping his fingers green in the garden, and he hopes to find a little more time to support his favourite team, Peterborough United.
